Fire and Rescue Service are holding a series of recruitment open days to give people an opportunity to find out more about the role, try out parts of the practical assessments and learn about the process.
On Saturday 23 May, Cosham Fire Station is hosting a general recruitment open day, before another event the next day (Sun 24 May) open to everyone but especially aimed at women who may be considering a career as a firefighter.
They recognise that some people may not previously have seen this role as an option for them. They want women to feel encouraged and empowered to join our Service, supported with their application, and throughout their time with us.

Where and when?
These recruitment open days are taking place at 85 Northern Rd, Cosham, Portsmouth PO6 3AH.
There is a 10am and 2pm session for you to choose from, with each event lasting for approximately three hours.
On the day you can:
– Get advice on how to apply and prepare for interviews.
– Ask current firefighters any questions you have.
– Try out the practical selection tests included in the recruitment process.
– Learn more about the various aspects of a firefighter’s role.
